Cattura Chapter (Cue Points) Video Extension

Kaltura™ also has its own plugin you can use to add chapters to the player. You can find this plugin by visiting this page on their player site:

When you get to this page you will see a sample video using the chapter views plugin. If you wish to use this plugin click on the “Customize” tab.

From here you can change the values for each of the attributes of the Chapter Views plugin. After changing some of the settings click preview player to see the changes you have made. A couple notable attributes are layout and containerPosition. When you are finished, click on the “Player Studio Line” tab at the bottom of the left side tabs.

This is the “plug-in line”. This bit of code is used to load the plugin into the Kaltura player, and will be explained next.

To place these plugins into the player, you need to add the “plug-in line” to the player itself. To do this, log in to your Kaltura account, and navigate to the “Studio” tab at the top of the screen.

This will bring up a list of all of the players you currently have created.

To create a new player, look to the buttons to the right of this page. There are a variety of different types of players. We would recommend using the “Basic Template” player options.

After selecting which player to use a new window will appear with different settings for the player. To add a plugin, navigate to the “Features” tab of the window. In this tab of the player settings, click on the option labeled “Additional Parameters and Plugins”.

This will bring up the field to enter a “plug-in line”. Copy and paste the plug in line from whichever plugin you wish to use and press “Go”. This will add all of the components of the plugin to the player, which you can then preview by clicking “Preview” at the top right of the page.

That’s all there is to it! Hopefully this will help you create more variety of players to give a more customized feel to your videos.
